• Franca and Diane appeared at the Dante Alighieri Society on September 13, 2006.
• Franca Mercati Martin and Diane Kinman spoke at the Sky Valley Education Center (an alternative school with 600 students) in Monroe, WA, on June 2.
• BookExpo America in Washington, D.C. (May 17, 2006), where Franca's Story won the Benjamin Franklin Award "for excellence in publishing through the year 2005", in the category "Interior design, 1-2 color", and the Silver Award in the Memoir category for ForeWord Magazine's 2005 Book of the Year.

• Franca and Diane were featured presenters for four 1-hour sessions at Mercer Island's Islander Middle School on May 9 and 10.  They were asked to talk about the process they went through to write the book, since the students were in the midst of writing the personal history of someone in their family.  Diane "interviewed" Franca, who treated the audience to her personal account of events she experienced.  Diane and Franc were asked if they would consider a return engagement next year.
• Franca's Story was reviewed by Dan Hays of the Statesman-Journal in Salem, Oregon.
• Franca's Story was added to the Holocaust Collection at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon; the collection is specific to books written by or about children who went through WWII.
• Mercer Island Reporter article, April 6, 2006 ("Around The Island" Franca's A Finalist").
• Diane and Franca were invited to participate in the Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association (PNBA) Conference to sign books at the "Decadent Dessert" autographing party on March 16 at SeaTac.  (Only 20 authors are selected from hundreds of applications.)
• Signing party at Third Place Books, Tuesday, March 21, 2006.
• Signing party at the Anacortes Public Library in Anacortes, on Friday, March 24.  This was sponsored by Watermark Book Co.
• Signing party for Secret Garden Books, held February 22, 2006, in the Miriam Twitchell Albert & Thomas A. Alberg Meeting Room at the newly redesigned and award-winning Ballard Library.  See photos of the event.
• Diane Kinman was featured in ForeWord Magazine's online newsletter in the "ForePlay" column of the February 8, 2006 issue. Their audience is 80 percent librarians.
