A mia sorella Franca

È caduta una stella
e speravo mi portasse
un messaggio che da tempo attendo.
Alle prime luci dell'alba
i frammenti della stella caduta
son corso a cercare sul prato.
Ma nel desolato e riarso prato,
non erano nati fiori.

Unofficial translation:

To my sister Franca

A star is falling
and I was hoping it would bring
a message, at first light of dawn.
The fragments of the stars
spread themselves around the land,
but I did not see her, and
not even any flowers grew.

Krimer is the nom de plume of Italian avant-garde painter, poet and journalist Cristoforo Mercati (1908-1977).
